Irente View Cliff Lodge

I can’t understand why Lonely Planet doesn’t include this beautiful accommodation in their Tanzania guides. Irente View Cliff Lodge is government owned at the end of Irente village at the top of the hill.
Not one of the cheapest places, but Africa isn’t cheap, though certainly my favorite place for chillout in Tanzania.
Irente View Cliff Lodge consists of several rooms all overlooking to beautiful Usambara mountains, therefore you can expect to have an unforgettable views just from any room type booked.
Lodge is accessible from Lushoto by private taxi that costed in 2011 10 000 TSh – nevertheless since the prices per night are reasonably high, it would be good for management to add value to stay and arrange transport for guests.
Stayed in double bed with ensuite bathroom. Bed was big and cozy, bathroom spacious with bath tub and hot water, towels, soap and even (not so frequent in Africa) a trash bin provided. Balcony is big enough to sit and enjoy the nature and big birds of prey flying above the valley. Room also contained a TV and coffee/ tea machine. Rooms are cleaned on daily basis.
At the time of my stay there were no other guests, therefore my stay in Irente View Cliff lodge was actually more than luxurious. Food was delicious and fresh and always cooked from the scratch, prices for meals were surprisingly cheap. To avoid waiting for the meals, staffs usually ask you to tell them in advance when you want to eat and what you want to eat. At ordered time you are served.
Irente viewpoint is short walk away from lodge, actually few steps on the small hill and offers endless view on a clear day.
If you want to enjoy tranquility far away from hustle and bustle in rural area Irente Viewpoint lodge is definitely the choice.
